Leigh Jig Cabinet
When I first bought a Leigh Dovetail Jig I needed a place to store it. I designed the top box with drawers so as to use all the Leigh jig had to offer in the way of joints. I used through, sliding & 1/2 blind dovetails to construct the box. The box carcase is made of Red Meranti with the drawer fronts of Camphor Laurel & the drawer sides of Silver Ash.
The supporting stand is made of Rose Alder & White Meranti. The small hanging cabinet is supported on a Northern Silky Oak frame while the cabinet itself is made of New Guinea Rosewood. The finish is 4 coats if Spar Varnish, hand rubbed with steel wool between coats. Overall dimensions are 920mm(W) X 450mm(D) X 1010mm(H).
